Marion ‘Woody’ Tracy

Marion “Woody” Tracy, 85, of Bowling Green, Ohio passed away April 10, 2023. He was born March 21,1938 in Toledo, Ohio to the late Floyd and Minnie (Roper) Tracy. He married Dorothy Nehls on November 1, 1955 and she survives in Bowling Green.

Woody attended Troy-Luckey High School where he played football, basketball and baseball. He worked as a truck driver for many years. Woody was instrumental in the building and development of the Carter Park Baseball facility in 1990. Over the years he coached little league baseball and served as the grounds supervisor. He was placed in the Carter Park Hall of Fame. In his younger years, Woody played adult softball and was affectionately known as “Man Mountain” by the other players. His life revolved around his family. His grandchildren meant the world to him and he enjoyed attending all of their sporting events and activities.

Along with his wife of 67 years, Dorothy, Woody is survived by his children Sandy (Jack) Didion of Northwood, Ohio, Scott (Cindy) Tracy of Toledo, Ohio, Sue (Scott) Lane of Weston, Ohio, Steve (Bobbi) Tracy of Erie, Michigan, Rich (Jennifer) Tracy of Perrysburg, Ohio and Andy (Tiffany) Tracy of Lewis Center, Ohio, 16 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, son Alan Tracy, 4 brothers and 2 sisters.

Visitation will be held on Friday April 14, 2023 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Dunn Funeral Home, located in the Historical District of Bowling Green at 408 West Wooster St. A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday April 15, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Rev David Boswell will officiate.
