Mark Robert Kessler, a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and husband, passed away peacefully on September 22, 2023. Born on April 15, 1949, Mark was raised in Carey, OH.
Mark leaves behind his wife, Rosie Kessler, whom he married in 2002. Additionally, he is survived by his daughters, Dawn Murphy, Toledo, OH; Carrie Kessler, Atlanta, GA; Laurie (Mike) Pollock, Albany, MO and Anna Godfrey, TX. He is fondly remembered by his brother, Dean (Nancy) Kessler, and his sisters-in-law, Kathryn Vollmar and Ronnie (Bob) Hepp. Mark’s memory will forever be cherished by his grandchildren, Lauren Kessler, Damien, Morgan and Mikey Godfrey. Mark has many nieces and nephews, all who he greatly adored.
Mark was preceeded in death by his parents, Robert and Ruth Kessler, and his first wife, Judy (Lee) Kessler.
He was an alumnus of Carey High School, Carey, OH, and BGSU. Mark was a member of the Pershing Rifles and the R.O.T.C.
Mark was known for his love of Neil Diamond’s music, happily singing along and cheering for the Detroit Tigers. He enjoyed a generous bowl of Tomato Soup with Grilled Cheese or anything involving Ketchup. Mark’s favorite pastime was hanging at the beach with Rosie. If not there, you’d find him tinkering in his garage, a place he loved.
Mark was a 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus, an accomplishment he was immensely proud of. In addition to his achievements, Mark was known for his knack for home maintenance and DIY projects, a passion he passed on to his daughter Dawn.
A clever and funny man, Mark was admired for his skill of playing songs by ear on his accordion- namely Roll out the Barrel. His family and friends will greatly miss Mark’s presence and his ability to fix anything that crossed his path, imparting wisdom as he did.
Mark lived a life full of love, laughter, and learning. His memory will continue to live on through the lessons he shared, the love he gave, and the people he touched.
