Mary Alice Eblen

Mary Alice Eblen, 92 of Findlay and formerly of Bloomdale, passed away on Friday, May 30, 2025. She was born at home on her parent’s farm in Bloom Township on November 27, 1932. Mary Alice graduated from Bloomdale High School in 1950. She married Eugene Eblen on April 11, 1954, and they enjoyed 71 years together.

She is survived by her husband Eugene, son Dean E. (Cassie Ann) Eblen of Cygnet, daughter, Laurel S. (David) Baden of Bowling Green, grandchildren; Patrick Otte, Rachel August, Dawn Otte, Derek Eblen, Danielle Johnson, Cassidy Fulk, Rebecca and Heather Baden and seven great grandchildren. Mary Alice was preceded in death by her parents, J. Emerson and Minnie R. (Craun) Gooch, two daughters; Beth Ann (Robert) Snyder, June L. Eblen Otte, sisters; Mildred Miller, Velma Smith and two brothers; Ellis and Earl Gooch.

She enjoyed growing up on the farm, where she learned to drive the farm truck. Mary Alice later worked at Montgomery Ward in Bowling Green, Loraine Oil Company, the Cygnet Bank and finally the Ohio Unemployment Office where she retired in 1998. She enjoyed camping, western square dancing, cooking and sewing. She was also a 4-H advisor for 26 years with the Bloomdale Cloveretts and Cygnet So-N-Sews.

Visitation will be held on Monday, June 2, 2025, from 5:00 – 7:00 PM at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, Findlay. A funeral service will begin at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, June 3, 2025, at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME where the family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until the time of service. Burial will follow in Weaver Cemetery, Bloom Township. Memorial contributions can be made in memory of Mary Alice to Bridge Home Health and Hospice.
