“Caring for a Generation: Supporting Mental Health in Aging” is the focus of the 2025 Mental Health Conference Series hosted by the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) Wood County.
The conference, which will be held on May 29 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., will discuss topics addressing the stigma of aging, understanding cognitive disorders in older adulthood, navigating grief, building empathy, and incorporating occupational therapy in mental health care.
Presenters include Dr. Nancy Orel, LPC, and Carli DiMeo, OTD, OTR/L, from Bowling Green State University; Candice Schmitt and Dr. Kononov from the University of Toledo Medical Center; Maren Simon, MSW, LISW-S, from Monarch Grief; and Lisa Myers, MSW LISW-S, from Wood County Committee on Aging.
The conference will be presented in person at BGSU Levis Commons, 1655 N Wilkinson Way, Perrysburg, or virtually. Lunch and refreshments will be provided for in-person participants.
Continuing Education Units (CEUs) are pending through the Ohio Counselor, Social Worker, and Marriage & Family Therapist Board.
