Michael E. Thornton, age 70, of Toledo, OH passed away Friday, September 22, 2023 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Toledo. He was born on September 7, 1953 in Fremont, OH to Ellis and Ethel (Leking) Thornton. He married Jayne E. Moore, on May 28, 1983 at Salem Lutheran Church in Pemberville, OH. Michael and Jayne have celebrated over 40 years of marriage together.
Michael worked as a Process Engineer for 27 years at the Cooper Plant in Bowling Green. During what free-time he had, he enjoyed riding motorcycles and taking care of his cats. His greatest joy in life remained his wife, Jayne.
Michael is survived by his wife, Jayne. He was loved by many others and leaves behind many friends that will miss him. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Marilyn Gottschalk and brother, Tom Thornton.
Michael will be laid to rest next to parents at a family committal in Troy Township Cemetery, Luckey, OH. Memorials can take the form of contributions to: The Toledo Human Society or Humane Ohio.
