Michael James Rose, 68, of Cygnet, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Monday, May 19, 2025. He was born on July 4, 1956, in Bowling Green, Ohio, to the late Donald J. Rose, and Marlene (Slee) Rose, who survives. He married the love of his life, Sally, in 1979, and she survives.
In addition to his mother and wife, he is survived by his children: Mandy (Nate) Baltz, and Chrissy (Jason) Correll; his grandchildren: Morgan (Dan) Davis, Kyleigh Baltz, Belle Stanford, Mikey Stanford, Macie Baltz, Blaine Correll, Ella Baltz; a great-granddaughter, Mara Rose Davis; and his siblings: Steve (Sue) Rose, and Don (Kim) Rose.
Mike was a gifted musician. His talent lit up every room that he played in. But above all, his wife, Sally, was his everything. They did life together – riding his Harley, traveling together in their motor home, and spending the winters in Florida. He enjoyed college basketball, March Madness, NASCAR, and also enjoyed cars. To Mike, family was the most important – and he was most happy when his family was together, all under one roof.
Mike leaves behind a legacy of hard work, sharing, confidence, kindness, compassion and action over words. He worked in the banking industry for over 41 years, having retired from Genoa Bank in 2016.
Visitation for Mike will be held on Wednesday, May 21, 2025, from 3:00 – 7:00 PM at Deck-Hanneman Funeral Home, 1460 West Wooster Street, 43402. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 22, 2025, at 11:00 AM, also at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Portage Cemetery. Donations in Mike’s memory may be shared with The Ronald McDonald House or St Jude Children’s Hospital. Online condolences may be shared with his loving family at hannemanfuneralhomes.com.
