The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) Wood County announces two special events in May and June, along with their educational courses and support groups for family members, caregivers and friends of individuals living with a mental illness.
Paint mindfully with NAMI Wood County is the activity for the Nite Out with NAMI event on Tuesday, May 16 at 3 p.m. at the NAMI Wood County office., 1250 Ridgewood Dr., Bowling Green. Drive Out the Stigma Golf Outing will be held Friday, June 2, starting at noon at the Bowling Green Country Club. The fundraising event will include a scramble format on nine holes of golf, raffle baskets and an all-you-can-eat taco bar. Beginning at noon, participants will be able to enjoy lunch before heading out to golf. Participants can golf on their own or create a team of four. There also are opportunities available for sponsorships. Costs are $50 for a single golfer, which includes nine holes with a cart and lunch; $175 for a team of four for nine holes with a cart and lunch; or $20 for lunch only. Two educational courses that start in May at the local office, 1250 Ridgewood Dr., Bowling Green, are NAMI Family-to-Family and NAMI Peer-to-Peer. Family-to-Family will be held every Monday and Wednesday through May 24, from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Register at https://namiwoodcounty.org/family-family-0/.
