Northwestern Water & Sewer District announces engineering leadership promotions

From NORTHWESTERN WATER AND SEWER DISTRICT

The Northwestern Water and Sewer District (The District) is proud to announce the promotion of Garret Chamberlain, P.E., to manager of engineering, and Matt Dennis to assistant manager of engineering. Both bring experience in public utilities and a commitment to serving the community.

In their new roles, Chamberlain and Dennis will oversee an estimated $31 million capital budget for 2026 and provide leadership for a team of 14 staff members.

“Garret and Matt have demonstrated exceptional technical expertise and leadership throughout their careers,” said Jerry Greiner, district president. “Their vision and collaborative approach will be instrumental as we continue advancing regional critical infrastructure initiatives.”

Chamberlain will also represent The District on the Wood County Economic Development Executive Board, the Coalition of Regional Districts (CORD), and TMACOG, as needed.

The District also recognizes Tom Stalter, who is stepping down from his role as manager of engineering. Stalter will remain with The District during a transition period to complete ongoing projects and continue serving in his current capacities.

“Tom’s leadership has been essential to our progress over the years,” said Greiner. “We are grateful for his continued support during this important transition.”

The District serves over 20,000 water and sewer customers in Wood, Hancock, Henry, and Sandusky counties. With $308 million in assets, The District maintains over 491 miles of water distribution pipe, 10 water towers, and 4,412 fire hydrants, to distribute 6.7 million gallons of water daily. The District’s sewer infrastructure includes over 377 miles of collection pipe, 14 wastewater treatment facilities, and over 5,000 manholes to treat 864,000 gallons of wastewater each day.
