Not In Our Town seeks community input for strategic planning survey

Not in Our Town. Stop Hate Together

From NOT IN OUR TOWN BOWLING GREEN

Not In Our Town Bowling Green (NIOT-BG) is requesting the community’s feedback and assistance with 2026 strategic planning by participation in a short online survey found here: https://forms.gle/ib4kRDC8Z1dxq7a86. This feedback is essential for developing the meeting schedule, focusing on priorities, and planning events.

To show appreciation, those who fill out the survey by Monday, Dec. 22, at 11:59 p.m. can choose to participate in a drawing for a $25 VISA gift card. The drawing winner will be notified by noon on Tuesday, Dec. 23. The survey will still be available for feedback after the drawing occurs.

NIOT-BG is a nonpartisan group that was established in 2013 as a joint effort between concerned residents of the City of Bowling Green and Bowling Green State University (BGSU) students, with support from the city and BGSU.

After a series of race-based incidents caused members to question who they are and who they aspire to be, a group began exploring options for ensuring the community was welcoming to all, and NIOT-BG was born. Since its formation, NIOT-BG has hosted and co-hosted events and programs such as the Peace March, Interfaith Breakfast, United Against Hate Week, community reads, educational workshops, and community talks.

The national NIOT organization was established in 1995 as a result of community reaction after a series of hate-based events in Billings, Montana. This grassroots organization has over 150 affiliates across the nation. Though each affiliate looks different, tailoring their approach to their own community, all have the same goal: to “stop hate, racism, and bullying, and build safe, inclusive communities for all.” To learn more about the national NIOT organization, visit www.niot.org.
