Otsego school district’s request for a new 5-year 0.50% income tax levy failed narrowly in Tuesday’s election.*
While winning in Wood County, 1272 to 1190, the levy was defeated by the voters in the Henry County and Lucas County sections of the district. The Lucas County vote was 138-221 and Henry County was 35-53.
The final tally was 1,445 in favor and 1464 opposed.
Also, Perrysburg voters rejected, by a vote of 3,645 for and 4,931 against, a 3.5-mill levy to finance new school construction and renovation of existing buildings.
*A story published late Tuesday reported the levy passed. That was based on Wood County results only. It also had incorrect vote tallies.
