The Otsego Knights’ Varsity Volleyball season came to an end Thursday (10/23) in the district final game against a solid Willard team.

The score was 3-0: 25-27, 18-25, 20-25. Match leaders for Otsego were:

Otsego Varsity Volleyball wins district semi-final match v. Liberty Benton

The Otsego High School Varsity Volleyball team derailed the Liberty Benton Eagles in a hard-fought district semi-final match Tuesday (10/21).

They advance to the district title match Thursday at 6 p.m. at Kalida High School, where they will take on Willard.

Molly Kramer reaches 1,000th career dig during 2-1 match v. Genoa

Otsego Volleyball junior libero Molly Kramer reached her 1,000th career dig Tuesday (9/30) in a home match against Genoa. She had 29 digs that pushed her to the milestone. All five Otsego Volleyball teams won, for back-to-back 5-0 wins on Teacher Appreciation Night.

The Otsego Varsity Volleyball team swept the 14-2 Fairview High School team on Monday (9/29). The 3-0 varsity match capped off another 5-0 day for the Otsego Volleyball program.

Otsego Varsity Volleyball falls to Oak Harbor; JV team wins

The Otsego High School Volleyball teams played Oak Harbor Tuesday at home in the first league match of the season.

The varsity team lost 3-1: 20-25, 25-21, 21-25, 14-25, and the junior varsity team won 2-0: 25-11, 25-19

With resilience and grittiness, the Otsego volleyball program recorded its first 5-0 day for the season.

In four close sets against Bowling Green High School, the varsity team finished 3-1: 23-25, 25-23, 25-19, 25-21.

Otsego begins league play at home today against Oak Harbor starting at 5 p.m.

Otsego Volleyball has tough loss v. Tinora

The Otsego High School Varsity and Junior Varsity Volleyball teams both lost to tough Tinora teams Thursday (8/21) in home matches.

The JV team fell 2-1: 10-25, 25-12, 21-25.

For the Knights, Autumn Mag had 3 kills, 3 solo blocks, 1 dig; Paige Fullenkamp-3 kills, 2 aces, 3 digs; Alivia Groff-2 kills, 3 aces, 2 digs, 5 assists; and Ashlyn Rider-3 digs, 6 assists.

The varsity lost 3-0: 10-25, 16-25, 14-25.

Avery Carpenter recorded 4 kills, 1 solo block, 4 digs; Cassie Bunde-1 ace, 5 digs, 11 assists; Vayda Schmidt-2 kills, 1 dig; and Leah McCabe- 1 kill, 2 solo blocks.

Otsego Junior High teams both won in action against Fostoria.

The seventh-grade team won 2-0: 25-9, 25-0. Jillian Swartz’s service game helped the team shutout the second set.

The eighth-grade team also won both sets, 2-0: 25-6, 25-21.

The varsity and JV teams will travel to Bowling Green High School on Monday, and the junior high teams will be at home against Genoa.

Otsego Volleyball sweeps Liberty Center

The Otsego High School Volleyball team recorded a clean sweep Tuesday (8/19) against Liberty Center for its first road trip of the season.

The freshmen team won 2-0 with close set scores of 27-25 and 26-24. For the Knights, Callie Hartman had 4 kills, 5 aces, 7 assists; Madisyn Eckert-3 kills, 1 solo block; Maya Burris-2 kills, 1 ace, 7 digs; and Allisyn Atkinson-10 digs, 1 assist.

The junior varsity team won both sets, 25-23 and 25-22. Paige Fullenkamp had 4 kills, 1 solo block, 4 digs; Paige Hauge-2 kills, 3 aces, 3 digs; Kendal Simon-2 aces, 10 digs, 4 assists; Alivia Groff-1 ace, 6 digs, 3 assists; and Ashlyn Rider-5 digs, 4 assists.

In three sets, the varsity team won 26-24, 25-14, 25-19. For the Knights, Reese Genson recorded 7 kills, 1 ace, 6 digs; Kayla McCabe-12 kills, 1 solo block; Leah McCabe-3 kills, 1 solo block, 2 block assists; Molly Kramer-18 digs, 1 assist, 2 aces; Cassie Bunde-2 kills, 25 assists, 2 digs; and Emma Dahms-7 aces, 4 digs.

The Knights return to play at home on Thursday against Tinora. The JV match starts at 5 p.m. with varsity to follow.

Otsego Volleyball comes up short against Leipsic

The Otsego High School Volleyball teams lost in the home opener Saturday (8/16) against Leipsic.

 The varsity team fell 3-0, with set scores of 14-25, 9-25, 22-25

For the Knights, Emma Dahms had 2 aces and 4 digs; Cassie Bunde recorded 20 assists and 2 digs; Kayla McCabe had 4 kills, 1 solo block, 1 block assist and 2 digs; and Molly Kramer had 10 digs and 1 assist.

The junior varsity team lost 2-0. Set scores were 23-25 and 15-25.

Kendall Simon had 13 digs; Ashlyn Rider had 11 assists and 2 digs; Paige Hauge had 6 digs and 4 kills; and Sadie St. John contributed 2 kills, 4 aces and 1 solo block.

The Knights return to play at 7 p.m. Tuesday (8/19) at Liberty Center High School.
