A graduate of Asbury College and NY Trade School, Paul showed excellence in his accomplishments.  He was a skilled Piano Technician; he worked at Baldwin in their research department; he took care of up to 250 pianos at a time at U of I, BGSU College of Musical Arts, LSU.  Throughout his life, Paul tuned for concerts, recordings, professionals, churches, family, friends.  He acquired his single-engine pilot’s license.  His bass voice graced many choirs, quartets, ensembles, and choruses.

As a self-proclaimed “band geek,” Paul played all the low-brass instruments.  His passion for music began with piano and took off with trombone at 10.  In H.S., he played in the military-style Parkersburg Big Red Band, taking part in winning the 1955 VFW Junior Band Championship in Boston.  He was in the Army band while serving in the reserves.  He found music wherever he lived.  He played in 26+ different community bands, concert bands, brass ensembles, brass quintets, VFW bands.

Music was Paul’s life and passion, but he also loved cars, driving anywhere and everywhere; motorcycles, riding the country roads; planes and flying.  He loved cooking, providing meals of down-home goodness for family and friends.  He did everything with great care and quality.

Paul is survived by daughter Rebekah Ruth McCutcheon Brothers (Todd); granddaughter Rachel; daughter-in-law Sarah McArthur (Stephen); sisters Mary Louise Crawford, Karen Groszczyk (Tom); nieces, nephews, cousins, friends.  He is greatly missed by all.
