A peaceful protest in response to George Floyd’s death is planned for this evening in Bowling Green.
Protesters plan to gather on the lawn of the Wood County Courthouse starting at 6 p.m., with opening statements at 6:20 p.m. The demonstration will then move to North Main Street, marching on the sidewalk to the downtown four corners at Main and Wooster streets.
At some point, the march will stop at the police station on West Wooster Street.
Bowling Green police officials met with the protest organizers ahead to discuss the plans.
The group will then walk back to the courthouse lawn, where a moment of silence will be held for Floyd, and a call to action will be made.
Protesters will be asked to disperse at 9 p.m., and return to their homes.
