A Pemberville woman was killed in a two-vehicle crash today (April 13) around 1:40 p.m., at the intersection of U.S. 6 and the Interstate 75 southbound exit ramp on the south edge of Bowling Green, according to the Wood County Sheriff’s Office.
The investigation reportedly showed that a Chevy Traverse was westbound on Route 6, when a Jeep Cherokee came down the I-75 ramp, attempting to turn east on Route 6. The Jeep reportedly pulled out in front of the Chevy and was struck on the driver’s side.
The passenger in the Jeep, Julia Coon, 67, of Pemberville, was taken to Toledo Hospital, where she was pronounced dead. The driver of the Jeep, Devin Coon, 19, of Woodville, was taken to Mercy St. Vincent in Toledo with non-threatening injuries.
The driver of the Chevy was Justin Fish, 41, of Hoytville.
Assisting on the scene were Mid-County 120 EMS, Bowling Green EMS, and Center Township Fire Department.
The incident is still under investigation.
