Penny was born on July 25, 1937, in Bowling Green, to her late parents Robert and Mearl (Ramey) Morelan. She married Frederick J. “Fred” Getz in Perrysburg, Ohio, on February 11, 1956, together raising four children. Fred and Penny shared 47 wonderful years together until Fred’s passing in 2003.

She was a card player as well as an avid reader, who enjoyed the little things and simply loved being around people. Penny was an incredibly loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend to many. The impact she made on her family will be lasting and she will be deeply missed by all of those whom she leaves behind.
