The Perrysburg Symphony Orchestra will present a special Patriotic Pops Concert as part of the Music at the Market series on Thursday, July 3, from 6-7:30 p.m. at the Commodore Schoolyard Lawn, 140 E. Indiana Avenue.
Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets.
A Musical Celebration of American Spirit
Conductor and Music Director, Travis Jurgen will lead the vibrant tribute to the nation’s heritage for a perfect prelude to Independence Day celebrations. Blending powerful national anthems with orchestral tributes to jazz legends, Broadway greats, and Hollywood icons, the Perrysburg Symphony Orchestra’s special program will perform the many musical voices that define the American experience.
Soloist Spotlight: Kira McGirr
The evening will also feature guest soloist Kira McGirr, a gifted mezzo-soprano known for her “richness of tone” and vocal clarity. McGirr will lend her voice to several patriotic and lyrical selections throughout the evening. She holds advanced degrees in vocal performance from the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music and Oberlin College & Conservatory, and currently serves as executive director of the Cleveland Chamber Choir.
This concert is presented by Laibe Electric-Technology, with support from Lakeside Interior Renovation and Visit Perrysburg. The Music at the Market series is coordinated by Main ART-ery.
