Phyllis Jean Shaheen, 86, of Bowling Green, Ohio passed away September 14, 2025. She was born February 16, 1939 in Wyandot County, Ohio to the late Harold and Doris (Wagner) Stahl. She married William Shaheen on November 13, 1960 and he survives.
Phyllis worked as a nurse at St. Luke’s Hospital for 23 years. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. Phyllis served as chairman for the Women’s Club of Bowling Green as well as chairman for West Lake Erie Community Improvement. She volunteered for the American Red Cross.
Phyllis loved flowers and enjoyed spending time gardening and baking. Her greatest joy was her family- especially her grandchildren.
Along with her husband of nearly 65 years, William, Phyllis is survived by her children Michael (Susan) Rizor of Marysville, Ohio, Doris (Ken) Millard of Denver, Colorado, Terry Rizor of Bowling Green, Ohio, Jomanna (Mike) Nadolny of Toledo, Ohio and Asmahan Shaheen (Chad Trumbull) of Bowling Green, Ohio, grandchildren Matthew, Mark, Brad, Shannon, Kelly, Scott, Adam, Melissa, Dennis, Jami, Clayton and Gage, 14 great-grandchildren and sister Lucille Woodruff of Findlay, Ohio.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers Jerry Stahl and Russell Stahl.
Visitation will be held on Friday September 19, 2025 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Dunn Funeral Home, located in the Historical District of Bowling Green at 408 West Wooster St. Her funeral service will be held Friday at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Union Hill Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be given in her memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Dementia Society of America.
