Phyllis Louise Coyer, age 87, of rural Portage, Ohio passed away peacefully on Wednesday (November 27, 2024) surrounded by her loving family. She was born on January 30, 1937, near Portage, Ohio to the late Donald & Bonetta (Amos) Dauterman. She married Jack L. Coyer on July 20, 1955, in Angola, Indiana and he passed away on March 6, 1988.
Surviving is her son, Michael Coyer of Portage, Ohio; daughter, Catherine Coyer of Perrysburg, Ohio; daughter-in-law, Tammy Coyer of Fairborn, Ohio; brother, Kay (Janet) Dauterman of Monclova, Ohio; grandchildren, Sondra (Kent) Tody, Justin Coyer, Brittany Coyer, Samuel Coyer; 6 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Donald & Bonetta; husband, Jack; brother, Paul Dauterman.
Phyllis was a 1954 graduate of Bowling Green High School, and then worked at A&P Grocery Store in Bowling Green for many years, and also worked 24 years at BGSU as an Examiner, Cashier, and Collector all in the Bursar’s office. She was a member of the Gleaner’s Organization and attended Victory Chapel Church in Cygnet.
Friends will be received from 10 AM – 12 PM on Wednesday, December 4, 2024, at Barndt Funeral Home in Wayne, Ohio, where a Celebration of Life Service will begin on Wednesday at 12 PM with Pastor Jim Tracy officiating.
