The pilot of a single engine plane that crashed today in Wood County was pronounced deceased at the scene, according to the Wood County Sheriff’s Office.
Gary Conklin, 70, of rural Weston, was found deceased around noon at the scene of the crash in a field in Center Township, west of Huffman Road and south of Kramer Road.
The crash is being investigated by the sheriff’s office, the Federal Aviation Administration and the National Traffic and Safety Board.
