The Wood County Fair officially opens Sunday, July 30, at 8 a.m., but many preparations are going on in the days leading up to the fair.
Today (Friday 7/28) campers can begin moving in, and the FFA Shop and Crop Judging takes place.
From 3-5 p.m., the entries for the beer and wine judging are delivered to the Home and Garden Building, and judging takes place starting at 5:30 p.m.
On Saturday, some of the judgings and livestock meetings are planned as follows:

8 a.m.—Fine Arts Judging
8 a.m.—Photography Judging
8 a.m.—IT/Model Judging
9-11 a.m.—Rabbit Weigh in
9 a.m.-Noon—Sewing/Canning Intake
11 a.m.—Rabbit and Poultry Barn Meeting
11 a.m.—Dairy Goat and Breeding Goat Check in on the track
Noon—Sewing Judging
12:00-2 p.m.—Poultry Weigh in
1 p.m.—Canning Judging
1 p.m.—Goat barn meeting Sheep Show arena Goat Weigh in
2:30 p.m.—Lamb Barn meeting and Weigh in
2:45 p.m.—Swine Barn Meeting
3 p.m.—Swine Weigh in
6 p.m.—Beef Barn Meeting Pavilion
7 p.m.—Beef Weigh in
7 p.m.—All Horses in Place
7:30 p.m.—Horse Department Meeting – Main Horse Arena
