‘Rhythm on the River’ to feature Ginger and the Snaps, Sunday, Sept. 14

Ginger and the Snaps will perform the next program of the “Rhythm on the River Arts Series” in Grand Rapids on Sunday, Sept. 14, from 4 – 5 p.m. The program will be held in the Wright Pavilion located on the towpath between the canal and the Maumee River at the end of Lincoln Street, behind LaRoe’s Venue. The series is sponsored by the Grand Rapids Historical Society, and Phase Electric has sponsored this program.

The event is free and open to the public. Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets for seating. In case of rain, the program will be moved to the old fire station, farther west on Front Street.

Ginger and the Snaps formed in 2011. The current lineup features two original members: Ginger Barson and Deb Weiser. The Snaps have played many local events and venues, including Porchfest in BG, Music at the Wood County Museum, BG City Park, Firefly Nights, and various benefit concerts. The current members are: Ann Jenks, rhythm guitar, vocals, percussion; Deb Weiser, rhythm guitar and vocals; Justin Newcomb, keyboard and vocals; and Ginger Barson, bass guitar. The band plays rock and folk music from the 1950s to present day.
