Richard L. Kruse, age 89, of Pemberville, OH passed away on Thursday, November 10, 2016 at Otterbein Portage Valley Senior Lifestyle Community, Pemberville, OH. Richard was born on August 16, 1927 in Gibsonburg, OH to Harold and Orpha (Soper) Kruse. Richard would later serve in the American Merchant Marines during WWII. In August of 1946 he married Joyce Egert in Gibsonburg and they would raise two children together. Richard was known as a “jack of many traits” and worked with numerous businesses throughout his working career. Most notably he worked for Busdiecker’s in Woodville and later as a machine mechanic and electrician for Atlas in Gibsonburg.
Richard is survived by his wife of 70 years: Joyce, children: Kathy (John) Schoendorff of Cambridge, OH, Nancy (Roger) Mullholand of Pemberville, OH, grandchildren: Phillip Schoendorff, Tina (Ryan) Hartman, Lisa (Steve) Bowe, Marc (Jaimi) Mullholand and 8 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by both of his parents.
Family and friends will be received on Saturday, November 12, 2016 from 10-11 AM at the Marsh Funeral Home, 4094 State Route 105, Pemberville, OH where funeral services will be conducted at 11 AM. Officiating will be Rev. James Budke. Interment will be in Eisenhour Cemetery, Pemberville, OH. Memorials may take the form of contributions to the Otterbein Portage Valley Senior Lifestyle Community.
