Rick L. Swartz 72, of Pemberville, OH passed away at home on Saturday, May 3, 2025 with his wife at his bedside. Rick was born on June 13, 1952 in Bowling Green, OH to Dale A. and Kathryn R. (Harmeyer) Swartz. He later served his nation first, in the Army National Guard, and was later called to active duty in the United States Army.
Rick was blessed with children from a previous marriage, and was able to find love again and married Kim Allgier on June 23, 2007 at Pearson Park in Oregon, OH. Rickey and Kim blended their families and celebrated nearly 18 years of marriage together.
Rick, worked as a Diesel Mechanic 40 plus years for Rollins Trucking which later became Penski Trucking. He enjoyed the outdoors which always included snowmobiling, and camping. However, his greatest enjoyment was his family, especially his grandchildren and attending all their events.
In addition to his wife Kim, Rick is survived by his children: Tim (Stacey) Swartz of Northwood, Jeremy Swartz of Pemberville, Jennifer (Kory) Henry of Northwood, Marcus Leck of Columbus, and Aaron (Dana) Leck of Perrysburg. Grandchildren: Ethan, Anthony, Logan, Skylar, Kamryn, Hunter, River, and Dorothy. Brother; Mark (Karen) Swartz of Luckey, nephew; Andy (Leslie) Swartz of Perrysburg Township, great-nephews; Avery and Aiden. Rickey was preceded in death by his parents, and sister; Teri Swartz.
The family will host a Memorial Service 4 p.m., May 18, 2025 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church 106 West Plumer St., Toledo, OH. Officiating will be Rev. Jaci Tiell. The family will also host a Celebration of Life 4-8:30 p.m., June 22, 2025 at Pearson Park in Oregon, OH. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials take the form of contributions to: the American Cancer Society.
