Robert Joseph Geiger

Robert Joseph Geiger, age 84, went home to be with Jesus on March 10, 2025 surrounded by his family in his home after a long battle with multiple myeloma and pulmonary fibrosis.

Bob was born to the late William C. and Esther M. Geiger on March 28, 1940 in Liberty Center, Ohio. He graduated from Liberty Center High School in 1958 and then attended The Ohio State University, transferring later to Defiance College, earning a Bachelor’s degree in comprehensive science and health & physical education in 1964. He went on to earn his Masters of Education, Health & Physical Education from Bowling Green State University in 1968.

On June 17, 1961, Bob married his high school sweetheart, Marilyn Snyder and she survives. Also surviving him are his two children; Gregory (Michelle) Geiger of Newberry, Florida, Robyn (Kenneth) Turk of Perrysburg, Ohio and grandchildren, Neo, Rez, and Rogan Geiger, Sophia and Jonas Turk. Bob is also survived by his brother Gerald (Alice) Geiger. In addition to his parents, Bob is preceded in death by brothers: Charles W. Ripke, Ervin P. Geiger, and Kenneth W. Geiger.

Bob taught science at Bowling Green Junior High School where he also coached basketball before he went to spend the rest of his teaching career at Eastwood Local Schools. At Eastwood, Bob laid out the first cross country course, coached basketball and taught mathematics. He also spent many summers managing the Pemberville Community Pool. After his retirement he received his funeral director license and went to work with Marsh Funeral Homes until his retirement again in 2004.

Bob truly loved his family and especially took pride in his grandchildren. He loved putting together puzzles and golfing.

Visitation will be at the Marsh & Marsteller Funeral Home, 4094 State Route 105, Pemberville, Ohio on Thursday, March 20, from 4-7 p.m. A Celebration of Life service will take place, also at the funeral home 11 a.m., Friday, March 21, 2025. There will be additional visitation the day of the service from 10 a.m., until the time of the service. Bob’s nephew, Craig Snyder will officiate.
