Ronald G Bobel

Ronald G. Bobel, 77, of Mobile, Alabama, passed away October 25, 2024. He was born April 9, 1947 in Toledo, Ohio to the late Robert and Mary (Blaine) Bobel. He married Donita Shepard on July 18, 1970 and she survives in Mobile, Alabama.

Ron was a 1965 graduate of Otsego High School. He went on to obtain his Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Manchester University in 1969. His career in Human Resources was spent at Ford Motor Company, Shepard Toole, and Olin Chemical Corporation.

Ron was a creative and talented woodworker. His retirement saw these skills blossom and many people have been blessed by his creations. He also took great interest in family genealogy, enjoyed singing in his church choir, and traveling with his family and friends. His greatest joy was the time he spent with his family, especially at his grandchildren’s baseball games.

Along with his wife, Doni. of 54 years, Ron is survived by his children Kristin (Danny) Carlson of Mobile, Alabama, and Eric Bobel of Tampa, Florida, grandchildren Brooks Carlson, Parker Carlson and Elizabeth Carlson, siblings Bob (Sharon) Bobel of Westerville, Ohio, Dave (Mina) Bobel of Ft. Myers, Florida, Fred (Coleen) Bobel of Bowling Green, Ohio and Beth Bobel Ware (Michael) of Venice, Florida, as well as 7 nieces and nephews.

His funeral service will be held on Saturday November 2, 2024 at 12:00 p.m. at Peinert-Dunn Funeral Home, 18620 Washington St. Tontogany, Ohio 43565. Interment will follow at Union Hill Cemetery in Bowling Green. Visitation will be held on Saturday morning at the funeral home from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 12:00 p.m.

The family asks that memorial contributions be given in his memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Samaritan’s Purse or Tunnels to Towers in lieu of flowers. They also would like to thank Honeybee’s Senior Care in Grand Bay, AL, for their excellent care during his final months.
