Ronald L. Shaner, 77, of Bowling Green, Ohio passed away Wednesday May 1, 2019. He was born July 22, 1941 in Bowling Green to C. Louis and Betty (Hughes) Shaner. Ron married his high school sweetheart Scotty Huntington and she survives in Bowling Green.
Ron was a 1959 graduate of Bowling Green High School where he was very active in athletics, playing football, basketball and track & field. He then went on to attend BGSU. Ron held the record for most homeruns for Bowling Green Little League baseball. While in school, he was a paperboy for the Toledo Blade. When Ron was a senior in high school, he wrote and delivered the youth sermon at First Christian Church.
He worked as a millwright for Dana Corporation. Ron loved to golf and was a member of the Bowling Green Country Club. He enjoyed watching Ohio State Football, cooking for his family, and took special interest in and studied antique and collectible cars.
