Ray Angry, keyboardist for The Roots, will join the Toledo Symphony Orchestra for a performance of his “Black Athena ~ Power” Friday, Oct. 17, and Saturday, Oct. 18 at 8 p.m. in the Toledo Museum of Art Peristyle.

The orchestra, conducted by Alain Trudel, and the UMS Choral Union, conducted by Scott Hanoian, will bring to life Angry’s  bold fusion of ancient histories and modern questions.

On the second half, the orchestra will perform Hector Berlioz’ iconic “Symphonie fantastique” which dives headlong into the obsessive and surreal, a fever dream scored for orchestra.

Soloists featured during the concert will be flutist Amy Porter and percussionist Bashiri Johnson.
