Roundabout construction bid awarded; section of U.S. 20 to be closed for 45 days

Construction of a roundabout on U.S. 20, east of Perrysburg, will begin in late May, closing Route 20 for an estimated 45 days.

The Wood County Port Authority announced Friday that the roundabout project has been awarded to Miller Bros. Construction Inc., of Archbold.  

This project is intended to enhance safety and help to alleviate congestion in a rapidly growing area of Northwest Ohio. This critical infrastructure project was awarded for $1,717,171.70 and is fully funded by Amazon.com Inc. 

“The Wood County Port Authority is committed to fast-tracking this project to minimize disruptions for travelers and local businesses while ensuring the infrastructure is ready to support the increased traffic from Amazon’s new facility,” said Rex Huffman, executive director of the Wood County Port Authority. “This expedited timeline underscores our dedication to fostering economic growth and improving regional connectivity. 

The roundabout will be constructed on Route 20, between the Crossroads Centre shopping plaza and Lime City Road in Perrysburg Township, just east of the final access road to the Crossroads Centre.

Project Details:

  • Route 20, between just east of Crossroads Centre and Lime City Road, is scheduled to be closed for 45 days in late May. Weather permitting.
  • Local access will be maintained on Route 20 to the Crossroads Centre.
  • Construction is expected to start at the end of May, the closure will be announced, and work will be completed by August. Weather permitting.
