A second suspect has been arrested for stealing the handcycle used by Eric Rine Jr.

Jordan Hammye, 23, of South Main Street, Bowling Green, was arrested Friday afternoon at the adult probation office in the Wood County Courthouse Complex. He was charged with felony theft and taken to the county jail.

The bike, valued at $3,500, was stolen Tuesday night from a van in the driveway of the Rines’ home on Byall Street.

Photos from the Circle K parking lot in downtown Bowling Green showed three men late that night, with one of them riding the handcycle. On Thursday, with the help of community tips, police located the first suspect, Cameron Fox, 23, of Third Street, Bowling Green, and found the handcycle in his apartment. The specialized bike was returned to Rine, who is paraplegic.

According to Bowling Green Police Lt. Dan Mancuso, adult probation staff reportedly recognized Hammye as a possible second suspect from the Circle K photos.

The police are still trying to positively identify and charge the third person involved in the theft, Mancuso said.
