Sharon Rose Weaver, 82, of Bowling Green, Ohio, passed away in the comfort of her home surrounded by her children and sister on Friday, January 27, 2023. She was born February 3, 1940, in Bowling Green, Ohio, to the late Ervin and Helen (Piddock) Schooner. She married Nick Weaver on November 30, 1962, and they had four beautiful children, Ginger (Kerry) Wulff, Christopher Weaver, Nikki (Bruce) Carlin, and Julie (Gary) Poe.
Sharon is survived by all four children; 3 grandchildren, Dillon Wulff, Holly Wulff and Zoe Carlin; five siblings, Shelby (Bob) Myerholtz, Pat Harrison, Kathy (Tim) Sands, Lon (Pam) Schooner, and Gary Schooner; along with many nieces and nephews.
Sharon was the best example of what a mother should be and was a fierce protector of her four children during their childhood. Her jobs consisted of being a mother first and foremost. She also worked as a cashier for Dave LaRoe’s Ice Cream and Candy Shop; as a clerk for WeFab, the family business; and she finally retired from The BG Book Store as a cashier. She enjoyed spending time at The Elk’s Club, going to the races in El Dora, and was a member of The Red Hat Ladies in Bowling Green, Ohio.
Sharon had a wide circle of friends over her lifetime. She always said, “You can never have too many friends.” Her brother, Lon, recently reminisced about their childhood, calling her Little Squaw, making reference to their Mohawk heritage, and how she was always so happy and had a constant smile on her face. She was well known for speaking her mind and always said you shouldn’t ask her opinion if you didn’t want to hear the truth! She had a never-ending supply of “Words of Wisdom.” Some of the most notable ones were, “If you run with the wolves, you howl with the wolves!” “Why buy the cow when you can get the milk for free?” “You reap what you sow!” and “Where there is a privilege, there is an obligation.” She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and four brothers, Ervin, Ron, Larry and Theodore (Ted) Schooner.
Her family will hold a small, private service for family and close friends in her honor at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to Dunn Funeral Home, 408 W. Wooster St., Bowling Green, OH 43402. Burial will take place at Oak Grove Cemetery, Bowling Green, Ohio.
