The sixth annual Bowling Green Interfaith Breakfast will be held on Tuesday, April 21, at the new Veterans Building in City Park, 520 Conneaut Ave.

The doors will open for a light breakfast of bagels, yogurt and fruit at 7:15 a.m., with the program beginning at 7:45 a.m. and concluding at 9 a.m. No admission will be charged, but reservations are required by contacting by email rsvp@bgfcc.org or calling 419-354-3989.

Bus transportation will be provided from the BGSU campus for students, with further details to follow.

The theme of this year’s Interfaith Breakfast is “Peace: Love Within Division.” This theme responds to a call from Arthur Brooks’ book, “Love Your Enemy,” that challenges community members to move beyond political differences with love and respect using a brief PBS interview (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NO0gesJOqQ4).

The program will feature leaders of diverse faith streams, as well as brief essays on the theme by high school students from the community. In addition, there is an opportunity to be involved in a collaborative community art project and local elementary school students’ artwork on the theme of “peace” will be on display.

Musical selections will be provided by the BGHS choral group, The Madrigals, and BGSU’s Voices of BG.

The Interfaith Breakfast is offered annually to the community by Not In Our Town BG, which began in 2013 as a collaboration between the City of Bowling Green and Bowling Green State University. Through the Interfaith Breakfast and many other events, the group has provided a voice for people to stand against all hate behavior and to encourage respect for all in a safe, diverse and inclusive community.
