The Bowling Green Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a single vehicle crash that occurred on Interstate 75, in Perrysburg Township, today (Sept. 17) at 4:20 p.m.
The preliminary investigation revealed that a 2006 Volvo commercial tractor/trailer was traveling north on I-75, when the front left steer tire blew, causing the vehicle to travel off the left side of the roadway, and strike the median cable barrier.
The vehicle then came to final rest facing northbound in the southbound lanes of I-75.
Approximately 1,500 feet of median cable barrier was damaged, and I-75 was shut down for a short time, before two lanes were eventually opened for travel. All three lanes were opened as of 9 p.m.
The Volvo was operated by Mohamed Alhaj, 27, of Lincoln Park, Michigan. He sustained no injuries as a result of the crash.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol was assisted at the scene by Perrysburg Township Police Department, Perrysburg Township Fire and EMS, Ohio Department of Transportation, and Pat and Son’s Towing.
