State Highway Patrol investigating four-vehicle crash on I-75 in Perrysburg Township

The Bowling Green Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a four-vehicle crash that occurred in Perrysburg Township. The crash occurred on Interstate 75 southbound near milepost 194 at 3:55 p.m. Tuesday (Aug. 26).

The preliminary investigation revealed that a 2004 Dodge Ram 1500 was traveling south on I-75 in the right lane, failed to maintain an assured clear distance ahead, and struck a 2019 Chrysler Town and Country van. As a result of being struck, the Chrysler van traveled across I-75 and struck a 2013 Lincoln four door, also traveling southbound on I-75 in the left lane.

The Chrysler van became disabled on the left shoulder of I-75 southbound and the Lincoln four door became disabled in the center lane of I-75 southbound.

The Dodge Ram, after striking the Chrysler van in the right lane, traveled off the right side of I-75, striking a 2016 Peterbilt commercial tractor/trailer, attempting to merge onto I-75 southbound. Both the Dodge Ram and the Peterbilt commercial truck traveled off the right side of I-75, where the Dodge Ram overturned and came to final rest on its top, with the Peterbilt commercial truck partially on top of it.

The Dodge Ram was operated by Marv Kranick, 46, of Bradner, who sustained serious, yet non-life-threatening injuries, and was transported to St. Vincent’s Medical Center by Perrysburg EMS.

The Chrysler van was operated by Tracy Graf-Gilbert, 36, of Bowling Green. The Lincoln four door was operated by Philip Heuker, 58, of Perrysburg. The Peterbilt commercial truck was operated by Michael Carl, 70, of Erie, Pennsylvania. All three parties reported no injury.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol was assisted at the scene by Perrysburg Township Police Department, Perrysburg Township Fire and EMS, Ohio Department of Transportation, Bubba’s Towing, VJ’s Towing, and Wright’s Towing.
