Storms, possibly severe, headed toward Wood County

The Wood County Emergency Management Agency has issued the following advisory:

The county is currently under a Slight Risk (2 of 5) for severe weather tonight, and a Marginal Risk (1 of 5) for Friday.

Key Concern:
Tonight’s storms are expected to arrive around midnight, which is particularly concerning as most people will be asleep during that time.

What to expect: 

  • Strong to severe storms will be possible Thursday evening and overnight
  • The greater severe weather risk will be towards northwest Ohio Thursday evening with the threat decreasing further east for northeast Ohio and northwest Pennsylvania later Thursday night.
  • Another round of strong to severe storms may be possible Friday evening and
    overnight

What has changed: 

  • The Slight Risk has been expanded further east towards the PA border for tonight
  • Slight Risk has been expended further north for Friday evening and Friday night into north central Ohio
