From TABBY AND FIDOS
Mother-daughter duo Patty Beam and Morgan Meronk established Tabby & Fidos in May 2023 with the mission to help local animal rescues free up space in their facilities by fostering cats in their cat lounge. These cats are for adoption, but visitors are welcome to simply come to visit the cats and check out the “catfe.” Tabby & Fidos is the first catfe in northwest Ohio.
Tabby & Fidos has had thousands of visitors, many repeats, who enjoy the atmosphere and the calming effect the cafe offers. It provides drinks for people to enjoy while visiting and have various local artists’ work displayed for sale. There have been positive reviews, including one from Ethan Martinez, who said, “I feel like I’m in a Hallmark movie when I’m here.”
Cats that are fostered at Tabby & Fidos are from Toledo Animal Rescue, For the Love of Cats, and the Wood County Humane Society. Over 200 cats have been adopted with the help of the catfe.
The business continues to see success, but due to personal circumstances, Beam and Meronk are choosing to sell the business. Currently, it is for sale for $70,000. This includes all the cafe equipment that was new as of July 2025 and all inventory, cafe furnishings, cat lounge furnishings, and more.
Anyone interested in buying the catfe is encouraged to reach out soon, as the lease ends in two months. The need to move is a priority. Murray’s Movers is ready to help bring the catfe to its new home. Beam and Meronk are available to help with the rebuild and redesign, if desired.
Serious inquiries are requested to email tabbyandfidos@gmail.com. A prompt response should follow. Beam and Meronk ask that only people with cash offers or pre-approved loans reach out.
