The Bowling Green Exchange Club and Bowling Green High School have announced that Tara Hastings is the April 2025 Student of the Month. Tara is a senior at Bowling Green High School and will graduate on May 25. She is the daughter of Tricia and Joe Hastings.
Tara’s school honors and activities include membership in the National Honors Society and Spanish Honors Society. Throughout high school, Tara has participated in volleyball and track. In volleyball, she has earned three varsity letters in addition to being recognized as 2nd team all-league, 2nd team all-district, and District 7 all-academic team.
Tara is also very involved with the DECA program and StuCrew at BGHS. In DECA, she was recognized as the Emerging Leader Award recipient and was a second place recipient at the district level competition for Business Law and Ethics.
Tara finds time to volunteer in the community by organizing a local blood drive and she was the coordinator for a Harvest for Hunger campaign which collected over 500 food items and raised over $1,000 in donations. She and a classmate collaborated with Goodwill and 13abc to collect over 10,000 pounds of donations to win the Goodwill Pass it on Challenge.
Tara currently has a 4.26 GPA and ranks in the top 5% of her graduating class. Following graduation, Tara plans to attend Bowling Green State University where she has received a full scholarship through the Sidney A. Ribeau President’s Leadership Academy. She plans to major in business.
