The 15-year-old Farrant has been touring throughout the United States. Taj has been featured on both national and international news channels and has performed alongside famous musicians such as Carlos Santana and Rob Thomas.
He returns to Bowling Green in the midst of appearances with Buddy Guy, including one of which will be at Guy’’s show in Saginaw, Michigan on Aug. 16.
He was recently asked by Prince’s estate to perform at Paisley Park for the 40th anniversary of Purple Rain where he performed with Prince’s band.
Taj is celebrating six of his latest original songs — “Crossroads,” “Cruz,” “Bad Trip,” “House Always Wins,” “2 x 2 and “I Give Up” — reaching No. 1 status on the iTunes Blues Charts in the U.S., Australia, Finland and Canada.
At the end of August he will be releasing his first album that includes those hits, along with more singles not yet released.
Taj picked up the guitar at 7, when he was inspired to learn the guitar solo on “Comfortably Numb.” A YoTube of his performance of the song garnered him international recognition that’s led to touring in his native Australia and the United States, where his family now resides.
In March 2023, he told BG Independent that ““I want to be able to play to as many people as I can. The goal is just to make people happy with what I do.”
