A Texas man died in a single-vehicle crash just after midnight today (1/30/25) on the Ohio Turnpike in Maumee.
The Swanton Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol reported that at 12:45 a.m. on the Ohio Turnpike at milepost 62 a 2001 Ford F-550 operated by Charles J. Miller II, 55, of Dallas, was traveling westbound on the turnpike when his vehicle went off the right side of the road and struck an embankment and small trees.
Miller was not wearing a seat belt.
He was transported by Maumee EMS to the University of Toledo Medical center where he was pronounced deceased.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol was assisted on scene by the City of Maumee Fire and EMS, Ohio Turnpike and Infrastructure Commission, and Bubba’s Towing.
