Toby Garno, born on June 4, 1969, passed away peacefully on January 7, 2025, at the age of 55 after a short battle with lung cancer. She was the daughter of Paul and Sandra (Knauss) Garno, both of whom preceded her in death, along with her brother, Todd “Skippy” Garno.
Toby was known for her ability to make friends easily. Those who had the privilege of knowing her understood that she valued and treasured the connections she made throughout her life; whether life created distance or not. Toby lived her life unapologetically in her own way and she brought a lot of love, joy, laughter, and great times to many. Whether that was from her loud(off-key) singing, her silly dance moves, her infectious and contagious laugh or her listening ears, advice, and comforting hugs. She will be deeply missed.
She is survived by her cherished son, Steven Hoodlebrink; brother, Dana (Kat) Garno, and her grandson, Ethan Hoodlebrink. Toby wanted to extend her deepest gratitude to her Aunt Marilyn, there will always be a special bond between them and before she passed, Toby said, “make sure you tell them that I will always love them”.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all of those who helped in caring for Toby and making her journey to heaven the most peaceful and comfortable that it could be.
A celebration of Toby’s life will be held at a later date.
Contributions in her honor may be gifted to Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
