The Toledo Rep will hold auditions for “The Legend of Georgia McBride” by Tony Award-winning playwright Matthew Lopez on Oct. 23 and 24, from 1- 4 p.m.
He’s young, he’s broke, his landlord’s knocking at the door, and he’s just found out his wife is going to have a baby. To make matters even more desperate, Casey is fired from his gig as an Elvis impersonator in a run-down, small-town Florida bar. When the bar owner brings in a B-level drag show to replace his act, Casey finds that he has a whole lot to learn about show business—and himself.
The show will be performed on Feb. 11-13, and Feb. 17 –20 in Studio A at the historic Valentine Theatre. “The Legend of Georgia McBride” is directed by Jeffrey Albright.
Roles:
Casey – white male in their 20’s (ability to play the guitar is a plus).
Jo – African-American female in their 20’s.
Miss Tracey Mills – a drag artist in their 40’s -50’s-any ethnicity.
Rexy/Jason – a drag artist in their 20’s-30’s -any ethnicity.
Eddie – male in their 50-60’s-any ethnicity.
Auditionees will read from the script.
Actors must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19, as per the Toledo Rep’s policy. Bring proof of vaccine to audition.
