Toledo Symphony celebrates Ravel’s 150th in opening concert of chamber series

In honor of Maurice Ravel’s 150th birthday, Toledo Symphony musicians perform three works that have become chamber music standards Sunday Sept. 28 at 4 p.m. in the Robert Bell Studio in the Toledo Center for the Live Arts, 4747 Heartherdowns, Toledo.

The program will feature:

  • Introduction and Allegro, a showcase for harp, flute, clarinet, and strings
  • String Quartet, Ravel’s earliest masterpiece, lush and expressive.
  • Piano Trioi nfused with Basque dance rhythms and lyrical elegance.

Performing will be: Merwin Siu amd Tomer Marcus, violin; Valentin Ragusitu and Joshua Muzzi, viola; Amy Chang, Damon Coleman, and Elizabeth Rice, cello; Joel Tse, flute; Georg Klaas, clarinet; Nancy Lendrim, harp; and Michael Boyd, piano.

The performance is the first in the Buckeye Broadband & The Blade Chamber Series all held in the intimate setting of the Robert Bell Studio.
