From BOWLING GREEN CHAMBER OF COMMERCE
The Bowling Green Chamber of Commerce Parade Project Team and the Bowling Green Chamber of Commerce Foundation are excited to announce the winners of the 2019 Bowling Green Community Holiday Parade. The theme this year was “Polar Express: Next Stop Bowling Green” and our esteemed panel of judges consisted of Matt Oestreich, Gloria Gajewicz, Thom Headley and Kelli Kling.
The Parade boasted exactly 100 units this year, with 74 of those units qualifying to be judged. The following floats were given awards:
‘Best of Show” went to National Tractor Pulling Championships for the second year in a row
“Most Unique” goes to the Bowling Green City Schools Transportation Department.
“Best Float Decoration/Construction” goes to Wood County Hospital.
“Best Youth Organization” goes to Heidi’s Twirlers
“Best Live Performance” goes to The Beat Dance Company
“Honorable Mention” was a tie between The League of Women Voters and the Wood County District Public Library
The following criteria was used to score the floats: Adherence to Theme: Polar Express: Next Stop BG, Creativity in Decoration, Use of Music, Performance Quality, Wow Factor, Participant Engagement, and Costumes.
The 2019 Annual Bowling Green Community Holiday Parade was presented by The City of Bowling Green, The Chamber of Commerce, Bowling Green State University, BG Convention & Visitors Bureau and Downtown BG.
