Trump’s ‘Big Beautiful Bill’ will give money to the rich at the expense of America’s poorest citizens

The Republicans in Congress, already having succeeded in the House, are trying to pass through the Senate Donald Trump’s “Big Beautiful Bill.” Giving money to the rich at the expense of the poorest citizens.

Take time to watch a two and a half minute explanation of Congressional Budget realities  –  “What Politicians Won’t Tell You About Federal Spending.”

Most of the federal budget cannot be touched. Most of the federal budget (55%) is on autopilot of mandatory spending. Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, Veteran Benefits.

Discretionary spending (26 % of the federal budget) is what Congress usually votes on.  Of discretionary (26%) spending, defense gets (47%) of that. Everything else (53%) the remainder.

Firing all the civilian workers and closing all agencies would not come close to solving our deficit problem.

The biggest, fastest growing line item is the interest on our national debt of 36+ trillion dollars. Our deficit is currently increasing to the tune of 1.9 trillion dollars each year with “The Big Beautiful Bill” projected to add 3.6+ trillion dollars to our national debt..

In 2025, 952 billion dollars of interest is projected to be spent paying our national debt.

More than the 865 billion dollars spent on Medicare. Or the 850 billion dollars spent on the defense budget!

So why is Congress continuing tax cuts for the wealthiest individuals and corporations when we should be raising taxes so that we are not wasting money paying 952 billion dollars in interest?
