Two Lima men were arrested early Sunday morning, one for reportedly fighting downtown and the other for passing out in front of the police station.
A Bowling Green police officer was patrolling downtown around 2:05 a.m., when he saw a large crowd of people in the 100 block of North Main Street. Someone flagged down the officer and reported that a man in the crowd was attempting to start fights with several people as they passed.
Police tried to stop the man as he reportedly took off running southbound to East Wooster Street.
Officers found the man allegedly trying to start fights with several people in the alley in the 100 block of East Wooster Street. An officer tried to detain him, but he pulled away before being secured by other officers.
Dante Wheeler, 21, Lima, was arrested for disorderly conduct – fighting, and obstructing official business. He was taken to the Wood County Jail.
Fielden Deeds Jr., 22, Lima, received a criminal warning for disorderly conduct.
A couple hours later, at 4:23 a.m., police found Deeds passed out in front of the police station, at 175 W. Wooster St. He was unresponsive to attempts to wake him up. Deeds was taken to Wood County Hospital, where he was medically cleared, then transported to the Wood County Jail. He was charged with disorderly conduct and being unable to care for himself.
