University Women of Bowling Green State University held their annual holiday party earlier this month at the home of Dr. Roger and Barbara Sanchez.
Pianist Michael Peslikis provided music throughout the evening including many holiday favorites, and the university women’s group the TOOTS (The Out of Tuners) led by Jo Ascunce performed three seasonal songs.
The holiday event, one of the group’s main events during the year, was also a way to help families in need. This year, members “adopted” five families who were recommended by the Salvation Army for their Holiday Basket Project. Anne Bullerjahn, community service chairman, and her committee delivered food, wrapped presents, and books for the families and their children before Christmas.
The organization is open to the public and welcomes new members. Any woman interested in joining can contact membership chair Karen Johnson at hkj1023@yahoo.com.
