Village Players staging YouTube hit ‘The Guy Who Didn’t like Musicals,’ Sept. 5-14

The Village Players will open their 68th season with the musical comedy “The Guy Who Didn’t like Musicals,” on stage at The Village Players Theatre, 2740 Upton Ave. Toledo, weekends Sept. 5 through Sept. 14.

Everything in Hatchetfield seemed normal until people began singing… Then, they began dancing… And now, a musical pandemic is sweeping the entire cit.  It’s up to Paul (an average guy who doesn’t like musicals) and his friends to stop this musical apocalypse and fight for humanity’s future. 

Originally produced by Starkid, and viewed over 10 million times on Youtube, this riotous send up of Musical Theatre draws inspiration from “Invasion of the Body Snatchers.”

Showtimes are:  Friday, Sept. 5  and Saturday, Sept. 6 at 7 p.m. with a Sunday matinee  Sept. 7 at 2 p.m. continuing Sept. 11-13, at 7 p.m. and Sept. 14 at 2 p.m.

Tickets are $25 and $20 for students.

Cast features: Seth Johnson as Paul with Hayley Hoss, Zack Tuttle-Robb, Nicole Tuttle-Robb, Thomas Long, Jeffrey Guion, Brock Burkett, Olivia Lemkin, and Bella Bradbury.
