A Waterville man died early this morning (10/1/23) in a crash on the Anthony Wayne Trail.
The Toledo Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol was called to the scene at the intersection Dutch Road at 6:23 a.m. Sunday morning.
A red Honda 450 ATV driven by Cory Berndt, 21 of Waterville, Ohio was southbound on Anthony Wayne Trail when it went off the left side of the road at Dutch Road striking a traffic signal pole.
Berndt was taken by ground ambulance to University of Toledo Medical Center where he was later pronounced dead.
Berndt was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol was assisted on scene by Waterville Police Department, Waterville Township Police Department, and Waterville Fire Department.
The crash remains under investigation.
