WBGU-PBS was among a record-breaking number of entries from across the globe in the 46 th Annual Telly Awards, earning an impressive four awards.
The Tellys honor excellence in video and television across all screens and are judged by leaders from video platforms, television, streaming networks and production companies.
WBGU-PBS was honored in the Television category for:
• Scenic Stops & Stories – local travel destination program: Silver – General Pets & Animals – The Toledo Zoo; and Bronzes – General Entertainment for Shannon Eis: Artist and Chris “Chilly” Rodriguez Muralist
• The American Woodshop – how-to woodworking program, Bronze – General – Home & Garden – Kitchen Plank Stool

“These local programs are the backbone of WBGU-PBS and to know that our stories about Northwest and West Central Ohio are gaining national attention is very rewarding, particularly for our producers who put in so much time and effort,” said Associate General Manager of Operations & Creative Services Tom Cummings.
The WBGU-PBS Telly award-winning episodes are available for streaming at wbgu.org.
New “Scenic Stops & Stories” stops will be released the last Tuesday of each month this summer exclusively online on the WBGU-PBS YouTube channel.
While “The American Woodshop” recently ended its 31 year run, classic episodes continue to air Saturdays at 7 a.m. and are available for free streaming at wbgutv.org/Americanwoodshop, on YouTube or on the PBS app.
Established in 1979, The Telly Awards receives more than 13,000 entries from all 50 states and five continents. Entrants are judged by The Telly Awards Judging Council — an industry body of more than 200 leading experts including advertising agencies, production companies and major television networks, reflective of the multiscreen industry The Telly Awards celebrates.
