The Wood County Alcohol, Drug Addiction, and Mental Health Services (WCADAMHS) Board is now accepting submissions for the 3rd Annual Resilience Through Art: A Recovery Art Show, a powerful community art exhibition celebrating mental health recovery, substance use recovery, healing, and hope.

This annual behavioral health art show invites local artists of all backgrounds and experience levels – including individuals with lived experience, family members, and loved ones – to share their stories through visual art, poetry, music, sculpture, and other creative mediums. The show highlights the role of creativity in wellness, resilience, and connection while reducing stigma surrounding mental illness and substance use disorders.

Artwork submissions are due by April 17, and can be submitted online at www.wcadamh.org/ArtShow, with paper copies available upon request. There is no entry fee, and submitted works should reflect themes of recovery, healing, strength, and resilience.

“The Resilience Through Art Show continues to show us just how powerful creativity can be,” said Amanda Kern, executive director of the WCADAMHS Board.

“Each year, artists courageously share pieces that reflect growth, hope, and transformation. This show not only uplifts individual voices but also helps our community better understand the many paths to recovery. We’re grateful to bring this event back once again and look forward to welcoming returning artists as well as new participants and new works.”

The Resilience Through Art: A Recovery Art Show is made possible through community partnerships and reflects WCADAMHS’s ongoing commitment to mental health awareness, substance use prevention, recovery support, and community education in Wood County.
