West Poe Road, between Brim Road and Village Drive in Bowling Green, will be closed in both directions beginning Monday, June 10. This closure is necessary to connect the new waterline, installed as part of the Village Subdivision waterline improvements project, to the existing water main.
This closure is expected to be in place for two weeks and is dependent on weather and progress of work. Access to/from driveways for residents will be maintained.
While this closure is in place, Village residents, and those who live along Poe Road within the closure, should have their refuse/recycling containers placed at the curb by 6 a.m. the morning of collection as crews will begin collection in this area at 6 a.m.
The Village subdivision waterline improvements project includes waterline replacement on Standish, Revere, Hamilton Court, Jefferson, Fort, Village, and Boone Court and includes new water mains, water service lines to the curb stop, valves, and hydrants. Once the waterline portion of the project is complete, new curbs and catch basins will be installed, with full-width street paving to follow.
As work continues to progress, additional lane restrictions and road closures throughout the Village Subdivision can be expected and restrictions at intersections may be necessary. Work in this area is expected to be completed by Nov. 30, 2024.
Updates and progress on this project and others can be followed on the City’s Capital Projects Map.
